7 Of The Best Happy Hours In London To Put A Smile On Your Face

What ever happened to the good old fashioned happy hour (singular)? Somehow the catering industry have made it normal for the sweet sweet happy hour to extend into whole afternoons, evening and even days. But we certainly aren’t complaining! When it comes to buying cocktails in London, it’s best to have a bit of thriftiness about you. And these bars are the place to go when you’re feeling thrifty/thirsty.

1. Barrio Central & East

Bringing some of the coolest interiors to both Soho and East London, the Mexican Barrio Central and Barrio East, offer some fantástico deals. From Monday to Thursday between 4pm-8pm and Friday t0 Saturday until 7pm, a selection of cocktails are only £5 (bottle beers are also only £3). As the evening approaches, the bars become even more vibrant, the music turns up and room is made way for dancing (the playlists are superb… the dancing is sweaty!).

2. Mews of Mayfair

Tucked beneath the railway arches, The Bridge is Clapham’s best gay wine bar. It serves up tasty 2-4-1 cocktails from 5pm-8pm and now it’s getting sunny, there’s a cute little outside spot for sipping on your well-priced bevvies in the sun.

Not to mention the poster-covered toilets and the bar ceiling full of hanging bras. 2-4-1 cocktails are available from Tuesday to Friday 4pm-8pm and until 10pm on Sundays and Mondays. And even better news – the bar is open ’til late.

First Jim, now Joe – these boys are good at the happy hour deals. Joe’s extending his happy hour all day on Sunday and from Monday to Friday between 4pm and 6.30pm. At these times, cocktails are only an astonishing £4. And they are GOOD. We’d recommend the zesty and sweet Son of a Peach.

If you’re in the mood to turn your happy hour Spanish, then the fiesta hours at the newly opened Tapas Revolution in Shoreditch are every day from 5-7pm. Grab yourself a table after work for half price jugs of sangria. They’re only £6.50, which means that whoever you go with, it would be criminal not to get one each. Plus, the oranges are a great source of Vitamin C. No?
