Christmas is drawing ever nearer. And sure, we have yet to celebrate Halloween just yet (it is only a few days away!), but the festive announcements just keep coming! From Christmas lights to markets and festive ice rinks, my email inbox is positively full to the brim with holiday news. And the latest bit of Christmassy news comes in the form of another date you’ll want to pop into your Christmastime calendar. That’s because Belgravia has confirmed when they’ll be joining the city’s festive displays and switching on their Christmas lights.
Each year, this elegant part of London puts on a gorgeous display full of festive cheer, and we’re sure this year will be no different! Last year saw the area suffused with golden twinkling lights as festive chandeliers hung high above the heads of visitors. Glowing stars shone through the nights, and fairy lights twinkled merrily on high. We can’t wait to see what they’ve got prepared for this year!
When will the Belgravia Christmas lights turn on?
This year, they’ll be turning on the lights on Sunday, November 16.
They’ll flip the switch at 4:45pm on Elizabeth Street. (Because sadly that’s how early it gets dark in London now…)

Celebrating the Christmas display
Naturally, the folks in Belgravia are throwing a big old party to celebrate the Christmas display. And they’re inviting all their neighbours and friends along to join in. Festivities will kick off at midday on November 16, with a family-friendly roster of things to do.
Visitors can meet Father Christmas and his elf from 12-5pm, with live entertainment from a juggler and balloon modeller. The switch-on party will also feature performances from the London Gay Men’s Chorus, the Fulham Brass Band, and steel band Solid Steel.
At the same time (yes, there’s more!) Eccleston Yards will be hosting a pop-up Christmas Market for you to get started on your Christmas shopping. Or you can get the season started with your first (or 7th) mulled wine of the year. The area stores will also be hosting in-store events with seasonal offers and complimentary treats.
