A chaotic new experience is set to crash-land at the iconic Hampton Court Palace this summer. History, comics, adventure, and zany antics will combine into an adventurous day out as the Beano Havoc trail takes over the palace grounds. Historical figures and iconic comic book characters will all be part of the experience, with guests encountering everyone from Henry VIII and Elizabeth I to Dennis and Gnasher from Beanotown.
The time-bending, comic-themed trail will be available for visitors to explore from July 25 – August 23.

It’s up to you to help Dennis and his pals from Beanotown, who have somehow travelled through time and crashed at Hampton Court Palace. Armed with a bespoke comic strip story, you’ll roam around looking for clues and characters, in an attempt to fix the busted time machine
The Beano Havoc trail
Much more than just a chance to wander around and spot some familiar faces, the Beano Havoc trail tasks you with solving a time-travelling conundrum. Because the kids from Beanotown need your help!
“Dennis, Minnie, Harsha, Rubi and Gnasher were late for their Bash Street School trip to Henry VIII’s palace. To save the day, Dennis has turned his go-kart into a time machine with Rubi’s flux capacitor – but “whoops”! it has malfunctioned and crash-landed in Hampton Court Palace. Now the timeline’s in a right royal muddle and Henry VIII is not amused. It’s utter chaos!”

Now you need to help the Beano friends find the missing pieces, which are scattered around the palace, and help them fix the time machine.
As you wander around, you’ll also come face to face with historic Palace residents, such as Henry VIII, Elizabeth I, Sophia Duleep Singh, and more, each dressed in signature Beano stripes and colours.
And when it’s all over, you can explore the palace’s expansive 60 acres of historic gardens, get lost in the maze, and even enjoy “Beano-inspired lunch and cakes from the onsite cafes”.

So, what do you say? Are you ready for a bam-tastic day out?
