‘Tis the cheese-on to brie jolly – and to celebrate the arrival of the most wonderful time of the year, Borough Market has announced that its annual ‘Evening of Cheese’ will be returning next week. Led by the market’s community of cheese-mongers, the popular event offers market-goers the opportunity to explore and celebrate all things cheesy.
Christmas is a time for peace, love, and justifying absolutely anything by uttering the simple words: ‘it’s Christmas’. So, there’s never been a better time to eat cheese for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. And there’s never been a better place to facilitate all that dairy-devouring than a market, jam-packed with – you guessed it – cheese.
An Evening of Cheese at Borough Market
On December 11 (which will henceforth be referred to as Cheese-mas), from 6pm-9pm, Borough Market will be encouraging Londoners to indulge in an abundance of high-quality cheeses from across the globe. From Britain, Ireland, and France to Italy, Spain, and The Netherlands; cheese-lovers will be spoilt for choice. Visitors can sample the goods, explore pairings, chat to cheese-experts, and nab some top tips on how to create the perfect festive cheeseboard. Oh, and it’s completely free to attend, might I add.
Borough Market is soon to be blanketed with a layer of Christmas cheer. And throughout December (2-24), the market will be open seven days a week, so that Londoners have ample time and opportunity to tick off every item on their festive shopping lists, and stock up on Christmas essentials.
All I want for Christmas is you fondue.
The festive Evening of Cheese will be taking place on December 11 from 6pm-9pm at Borough Market.
