I come bearing yet another shiny item for us to precariously shove into London’s full-to-bursting trophy cabinet, folks. And today’s glistening accolade comes courtesy of the culinary connoisseurs over at Food & Wine magazine who have recently dished out their annual ‘Global Tastemakers Awards’. One of the coveted awards shone a light on the world’s best markets for food and drink – and (as I’m sure you’ve guessed based on the title of this article and the smug tone in which I am writing) London did pretty darn well in this department.
Now, I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: if you’re looking for a scrumptious spot to sip, snack, sample, and stroll, the capital city is a pretty great place to be. There’s an abundance of delicious food markets dotted across the city; each of which is filled to the brim with culinary delights. But which of them has been named the very best of all, I hear you ask? Borough Market, of course.

Borough Market
Food & Wine’s panel of experts named London’s legendary Borough Market the very best food market in the world. Having been filling the rumbling tummies of hungry Londoners for over 1000 years, it’s unsurprising that the Southwark spot knows a thing or two – but it’s certainly nice to have it in writing, you know?
The historic hub of food and commerce boasts over 100 stalls, stands, restaurants, and bars, serving up a diverse array of delectable delicacies. Whatever it is that you’re craving, you’re almost guaranteed to find it at Borough Market. From sizzling street food to succulent sweet treats, there’s something tasty to tuck in to at every turn. So, be sure to visit with an empty stomach and a full bank account – because you’ll certainly be making thorough use of both.
