Out of all of London’s Christmas markets, it’s safe to say Camden (as expected) is putting on something spectacularly unique. Not only are all your Christmas shopping woes solved with a weekly-themed market running in the North Yard on Thursdays, but there will also be festive-filled entertainment at the pop-up bar, Winter’s Place, in Camden Lock Place on Friday and Saturday evenings. Check out some of our highlights below!
1. There’s a different themed market every Thursday.
Head to the North Yard every Thursday for the perfect dose of pre-Christmas excitement. Each week, Camden Market will be playing host to themed Christmas shopping events, perfect if you’re after unique gift ideas (for yourself, or someone else – if they’re lucky). When you’ve shopped yourself chilly, get toasty warm in the North Star Bar, where they’ll be serving up mulled wine and Baileys hot chocolate to relight your festive fire.
8th December: Stocking Fillers for kids and pets
15th December: Deck the Walls for art and design lovers
22th December: Season’s Eatings for the best of festive food & drink
2. Snap a pic at the Selfie Tree.
For the Instagram and Snapchat addicts, Camden Market are certainly catering to your self-indulgent whims by providing a Christmas tree with a bit of practicality. Introducing the 12-sided, mirrored selfie tree, built with the festive selfie in mind. So head on down with your favourite Santa hat, filter and Christmas jumper and get snapping. #SELFIETREE
3. There’ll be live music!
We expect nothing less from Camden than a cracking line-up of live music. Every Friday and Saturday, until 17th December, Camden Lock Place will be brought to life by a festive heated pop-up bar, as well as a fantastic line-up of both established and up-and-coming acoustic and stripped-back electronic acts. It’s the perfect place for a cosy, atmospheric winter drink (and, yes, the bar is fully stocked with all the warming alcoholic, cinnamon goodness you could wish for).
4. Expect lots of festive feasting
Of course, what’s a Christmas market without indulgent, scoff-able nibbles. On Thursday 22nd December, there will be an extra-special selection of festive food brought to you by local artisan producers. You may choose to buy goods for Christmas pressies, but be warned – there will be a strong temptation to buy yourself treats to gobble up there and then. (We won’t hold it against you). You’re also right on the doorstep of KERB Camden Market swing by for a Killa Dilla confit turkey and mozzarella quesadilla, or some Mother Clucker chicken strips with a festive cranberry sauce dip. All KERBmas specials are running for a limited time only so get in there before they’re gone.
