Talk about relaxing with a view.
As places go for catching a 360-degree view of our capital’s skyline, not many come close to the London Eye. As an escape from the hustle and bustle of city life (once you get past the queue and into the pod), not much comes close in terms of calming days out. Until now.
With just a little addition the famous London Eye pod, and we might just have found the most relaxing activity going in the city. Starting today (October 11), you’ll have the chance to enjoy yoga and meditation classes in the London Eye pods, as you slowly spin around the city.
Suitably dubbed the “Wellness Pod”, and aptly arriving one day after World Mental Health Day (October 10), the new initiative aims to take yoga to literal new heights and help spread recognition of the importance in people’s health and wellbeing.
Taking over one of the 32 glass pods, luxury lifestyle brand Equinox have transformed the space into a yoga studio like you’ve never seen before. Six guests at a time will be treated to a truly unique yoga and meditation class that aims to deliver inner peace all while enjoying views of the Thames, the Shard, Big Ben and plenty of other famous landmarks.
Sunny Jouhal, General Manager at the lastminute.com London Eye, said: “Health and wellbeing are ever becoming a greater priority in people’s lives and we’re delighted to launch this truly unique wellbeing experience.
“Now in our 21st year, the London Eye was built as a symbol of innovation at the turn of the Millennium and we delight in continually surprising visitors with new ways to experience the capital’s views and offer a new perspective on the city. We believe that guests will enjoy an inspiring and relaxing total mind-body experience high above the London skyline this Autumn, in what will be the capital’s only rotating yoga studio!”
Wellness Pod classes take place daily (except Wednesdays) at 12pm, and you can book your spot here for £35-per-person.
