We cover our fair share of new openings here at Secret London, but none have made quite the waves this one has, and that’s really saying something.
Australian cult favourite Yo-Chi is bringing its frozen yoghurt brand to London, and people are pretty excited about it. The new venue will open next Thursday, 20 August, in Notting Hill Gate.
A campaign to come to London
At the end of last month, it was announced that Yo-Chi would be opening its first venue in the UK due to an enormous amount of organic demand from UK fans of the brand.
The iconic self-serve bowls were made popular on The Girls Bathroom podcast, hosted by British influencers Sophia Tuxford and Cinzia Baylis-Zullo, with whom the brand teamed up to break the news to UK audiences. The two online personalities fell in love with Yo-Chi while in Australia and raved about it on their podcast, so it was only right they teamed up to announce the news.
Sophia and Cinzia weren’t the only ones obsessed with the brand either. There were many calls from Brits who’d tried the brand on their holidays to Australia, who were campaigning for Yo-Chi to set up shop here in London.
Yo-Chi in London
The Notting Hill Gate venue will sit across two floors and will have all the signature elements that make its Australian stores feel welcoming and a place where customers can meet and spend time together without having to go to a bar.
If you’ve never had a Yo-Chi experience before, you can expect to select your bowl size, choose from nine signature frozen yoghurt flavours and create your own swirl combining those flavours.
You’ll then head over to what Yo-Chi is known for most: the topping station. Here you’ll be able to choose from a wide selection of premium ingredients, including daily-cut fresh fruit, choc chunk cookie cake and mini mochi.
You’ll then pay for your creation by weight.

So if you love a sweet treat and need a new place to hang out with pals, it sounds like Yo-Chi is the place to be.
