Yann Couvreur will bring his beautiful bakes to London this year.
The world is full of interesting people doing incredible things. So with that in mind, let me introduce you to Yann Couvreur, the French pastry chef with two major passions: creating breathtaking patisserie that’s often the toast of Paris, and taking care of his pet fox. Yes, seriously 👇
Damn, the man is cool. His fox is so ubiquitous that it even influences the design of some of his creations:
But enough about the fox, because you want to know about the treats on offer, I’ll wager. Eclairs, tarts, and Paris Brest are Couvreur’s specialties, and they’re all utterly beautiful – as you’ll see from his droolworthy Instagram feed.
Couvreur has already got a residency at Mayfair hotel Claridge’s all lined up – it runs from September 4th to 11th – but there’s further good news on the horizon, for he’s also opening up a permanent store here in the Big Smoke. There’s no word on when exactly, but that’s all in the details; in the meantime, let’s gaze fondly at the patisserie you can expect to see.
Eater are reporting that the Claridge’s residency will boast treats such as dark chocolate and tonka bean eclair (fingers crossed for a delicious showdown with rival pastry hunk Joakim Prat over at Maitre Choux) and a lime and shiso tart. Frankly, my mouth is already watering, and I’ve got half a mind to hop a Eurostar to Paris. Patience is a virtue, I guess…
Keep an eye on his Instagram for news of the London opening.
