Open now at Jubilee Place, Wharf Kitchen is joining London’s already pretty brilliant street food scene.
Serving hungry Londoners from breakfast through to dinner, Wharf Kitchen has everything from poké bowls and paleo treats, to vegan burgers and buffalo wings. On Thursday and Friday evenings you’ll even be able to have a bit of a boogie, as there’ll be live music and DJs to soundtrack your scoffing.
Hidden in the basement of Jubilee Place, Wharf Kitchen is the new home of Caribbean cool kids, Mama’s Jerk; fried chickeneers BIRD; Greek gods, The Athenian; and loads more. Here’s what’s in store:
Mama’s Jerk
Caribbean street food made with a top secret Jerk recipe. Although famed for their Jerk chicken, they also offer tropical salads, Roti wraps and innovative rice dishes.
BIRD
BIRD is well above the bargain bucket breed of fried chicken – in fact, this stuff is really clucking good. All free-range and coated in gluten free flour, it’s the kind of naughty-but-nice fodder that you don’t feel too bad about eating. From chicken wings coated in all sorts of tasty sauces, to a fried chicken waffle burger – if there’s one thing BIRD isn’t, it’s boring.
Ahi Poké
These brightly coloured bowls are full of super healthy, raw ingredients that will make you feel goooood.
The Athenian
If it’s authentic Greek food you’re after, The Athenian is The Spot. Serving up the nation’s favourite on-the-go grub, souvlaki, there are tons of meat, veggie and vegan options to fill the void.
Rainbo
Rainbo started out as a simple food truck serving gyoza dumplings, but, as they’ve grown, so has their menu! Now you can expect everything from katsu wraps and pork belly rice bowls, to breakfast bao buns.
The Vurger Co.
The Vurger Co. are calling for a revolution in fast food, and they’re using plants to do it. You can’t go wrong with The Classic, although The Holy Habanero will do nicely for those who can handle the spice. Either way, everything on the menu puts Burger King to shame. Add a side of mac and cheese, and one of their sinfully good mylkshakes, and you’ve got yourself one fabulous feast.
