Do something for the ‘future you’ at this Westfield event!
This October, Westfield is teaming up with local communities and talent to host a series of amazing careers events, creative arts workshops and wellbeing activities. The Future You event is designed to inspire young people between the ages of 12 and 18 to take care of their physical and mental wellbeing, and think about what they might want to do in the future. Whether you need a mood boost or want to discover prospective career paths – there are loads of events and activities to explore at Future You. Learn how to effectively enrich the mind and body through sports activities like boxing or Muay Thai, or develop the right skills and mindset for a career in the creative industry with art classes. Explore prospective career paths, attend CV workshops or finance and budgeting sessions, and get advice on how to find your first job!
The Future You event runs from October 23 – 26 at Westfield London (Shepherd’s Bush) and from October 27 – 30 at Westfield Stratford City. Sessions are available to book now via the Westfield websites. Find out more about what’s going on in each Westfield centre below!
Westfield London (October 23 – 26)
Sport & Wellbeing
Boost your physical and mental wellbeing with a range of multisport games from QPR in the Community. Think football kick-ups and physical tic-tac-toe! You’ll also learn about traineeships, apprenticeships, volunteering opportunities and more with QPR too.
Creative Arts
Want to unleash your inner artist? Cultivate your creativity with a brilliant drawing-for-design workshop from illustrator, educator and activist Elyse Blackshaw. You’ll experiment with different methods and explore the many uses of patterns while imaginatively repurposing materials and objects.
Or perhaps you’d like to attend a spoken word workshop from Bush Theatre and master the art of poetry, storytelling and using your voice to make an impact.
Education & Careers
If you find managing your money a struggle, book in for a session with a money expert. They’ll help you get intelligent with your finances with advice on budgeting, saving, student finance and more.
Meanwhile, if you live in the borough of Hammersmith and Fulham, you can visit The Work Zone for free employment advice. Get access to live job and apprenticeship opportunities in the local area, and make use of CV, cover letter and interview skills technique support.

Westfield Stratford City (October 27 – 30)
Sport & Wellbeing
Get active with taster boxing and Muay Thai sessions from Fight for Peace, or football coaching from the West Ham United Foundation. Both of these sports sessions include competitive games too so you can really challenge yourself!
Creative Arts
Want to pursue a career in fashion? Book yourself onto this amazing workshop from the London College of Fashion, teaching you how to succeed in the glamorous world of fashion. You could also take part in a pop-up sewing session from Caramel Rock, to help you get a taste of the skills you might need!
Or if you’re an aspiring content creator, pay a visit to the interactive YouTube school. You’ll develop the skills to create, curate and commercialise your original digital media with Catalyst in Communities. Could you be the next YouTube star? Come along and find out!
Aspiring creatives can also nurture their music skills with the Young Urban Arts Foundation. Learn about future opportunities with partners including Sony Music UK, Universal Production Music. And attend a creative vocal workshop designed to get you performance ready. Eager to take to the stage? You could book onto a Spoken Word Workshop & Open Mic Session with Stevanie Matthews too!
If you fancy planning for your future with a real taste of the future, head on down to the Virtual Reality workshop from D-Lab. It’s out of this world! You’ll have the chance to virtually travel through space and interact with different 3D worlds using VR headsets. And if you’re feeling inspired, you’ll be able to paint your own fully immersive 3D work of art using the intuitive design platform, Gravity Sketch too.
