West End LIVE 2023 kicks off on Saturday (June 17) in Trafalgar Square, bringing to London the biggest free musical theatre festival in all of Europe. Final details have just been announced, and we’re here to let you know the low-down of what’s going down. Going on, we mean. Going on.
An open-air theatre will be in place in Trafalgar Square, where tens of thousands of fans will get a taste of the best of the best that the West (End) has to offer. More than 50 performances will pack the schedule over the weekend-long event. There’ll be crowd favourites, West End classics, and new hit shows. A who’s-who of West End royalty will be hosting the event, guiding the audience through the whirlwind of song and dance. Tim Mahendran (& Juliet) and Hiba Elchikhe (Everybody’s Talking About Jamie) will be introducing the acts on the Saturday. Trevor Dion Nicholas (who takes his final bow as George Washington in Hamilton this weekend) and Olivier-Award nominee, Rachel Tucker, will be taking over presenting duties on Sunday.
Among the shows that will be performing at West End LIVE 2023 are classic crowd pleasers such as Hamilton, Six, Les Misérables, and The Book of Mormon. There’ll also be performances from Heathers The Musical, Disney’s Frozen, Cabaret, and many, many (and we mean many) more. Regardless of if you’re the ultimate fan, or a newcomer to the scene, you won’t want to miss out.
You don’t even need a ticket: just turn up on the day, or both days, and take in the world-class performances. BSL interpreters will also be on hand to ensure that everyone enjoys the show.
