West End LIVE returns to London in June, offering musical theatre fans the chance to enjoy excerpts from over 50 shows without paying a penny.
Get your vocal chords warmed up and your jazz hands at the ready, folks. London’s outrageously stagey (and completely free to visit) musical theatre festival is officially returning to Trafalgar Square in June for another year of show-stopping performances in the heart of the capital city.
What is West End LIVE?
Well, in a nutshell, West End LIVE is the biggest musical theatre festival in Europe. Because us theatrical folk don’t do things by halves. The all-singing, all-dancing extravaganza lands slap-bang in the middle of London each year, and hundreds of thousands of musical theatre enthusiasts flock to the open-air stage to feast their eyes (and their ears) on the very best of the West End.
The festival-style stage sets up shop in Trafalgar Square, ready to be graced with live performances from the cast members of over 50 West End Shows. The event is usually hosted by theatre royalty, with the legendary likes of Hannah Lowther, Divina De Campo, Zoe Birkett, and Oliver Bowen Tompsett having taken to the main stage last year to guide the audience through the proceedings.

When is West End LIVE 2026?
The West End whirlwind of a weekend will be taking place (as per usual) in June this year. The dates that must be immediately marked in your diaries are Saturday, June 20 and Sunday, June 21.
The 2026 West End LIVE line-up
The 2026 performance schedule and line-up hasn’t yet been announced but if previous years are anything to go by, the line-up will be bursting at the seams with theatrical goodness. From firm favourites to shiny new musicals, visitors will get to experience top-notch performances from some of the West End’s finest talent without having to pay a penny. So, whether you’re a musical-maestro or a newbie on the show-tune scene; there’s guaranteed to be something to get your toes tapping.

The event doesn’t require a ticket, you can just turn up on the day (or both days – we certainly wouldn’t blame you) and prepare to sing your heart our and dance your socks off. However, as I’m sure you can imagine, the event gets extremely busy. The audience is admitted on a first-come, first-served basis, and entry isn’t guaranteed. A BSL interpreter will be on hand to ensure that everybody is able to enjoy the performances, and there is a free ticketed accessible viewing platform (but you need to apply for this in advance).
West End LIVE will return to Trafalgar Square on Saturday, June 20 (from 11am to 5pm) and Sunday, June 21 (from 12pm to 4pm). Entrances will open approximately 45 minutes before the event starts. You can find out more, plan your visit, and check out the performance schedule (once it gets released) here.
