As the oldest trophy in the history of English football, the FA Cup final is more than just a fun day out for the teams involved. And this year, it’s all about bragging rights, with an all-Manchester clash at Wembley Stadium primed for the afternoon of May 25 – that’s this weekend!
If you think you’re having deja vu, it’s probably because you are โ the very same two teams met in the final of the FA Cup last year, with a brace from former city midfielder Ilkay Gundogan enough to seal a 2-1 win for the blues in the end.
Manchester United are looking to win their 13th FA Cup, but just as importantly, they’re looking to get revenge on Man City for the match last year. It’s Pep Guardiola vs Erik ten Hag. It’s red vs blue. Haaland vs Hรธjlund. It’s the FA Cup final, a Manchester derby, and, short of being at Wembley Stadium in the crowd, these London venues are some of the best spots to catch every bit of the action on May 25. What a way to kick off the long weekend, eh?
1. BOXPARK, various locations
London’s trio of street-food hubs are (in)famous for turning into a cauldron of football-watching frenzy during the biggest games. As a pre-cursor to the upcoming Euro 2024 matches, BOXPARK will mark the perfect spot to check out all the FA Cup action. The Shoreditch and Croydon spots will be screening the entire game, with their usual array of terrific food stands slinging out the grub and pints being poured at lightning speed. The Wembley BOXPARK will be housing a Man City fanpark, which only caters for fans with a ticket to the game, so don’t turn up here if this isn’t you to avoid disappointment, since they won’t be screening the game! Find out more information at the BOXPARK website.ย
