London is a city that can sometimes seem devoted to baked goods. With world-class bakeries hidden away all throughout the city, there are pastries galore on offer for those in search of a sweet or savoury treat. And this spring, one of the city’s most beloved pastries of all time has made a return. That’s right, folks, one of the OG viral pastries is back – the fabled cruffin has returned.
Due to the proliferation of bakeries in the city, our social feeds are full to bursting with the next viral patisserie, doughnut, or sweet treat. But one of the very first pastries to take social media by storm was the cruffin. A now almost quaint offering, thanks to its carefully-crafted simplicity, the cruffin is the perfect marriage of a croissant and a muffin. The decadent delights feature flaky layers from the croissant lamination, in the form of a muffin.
The cruffin at Richoux
The new cruffin range is now available at Richoux’s Oxford Circus location. The pastry first achieved notoriety at the brand’s Piccadilly location, but that site is now sadly closed. So you’ll find them just a short hop, skip, and hardly-a-jump away.

To mark the return of the cruffin, Richoux has also launched special new flavours. The latest cruffin creations feature indulgent fillings, with flavours of Pistachio, Chocolate and Salted Caramel.
Richoux owner Naveen Handa says:
“Our cruffin has always held a special place in the hearts of Richoux’s guests. We have worked hard to take it to new heights and are thrilled to be bringing it back to the London scene. The team can’t wait for you to try a piece of Richoux’s – as well as London’s – patisserie heritage.“
