Commitment-phobes of the capital city assemble; our prayers have been answered in the form of Vagabond Wines, a quirky wine bar that allows you to sample up to 140 different wines instead of having to commit to a full bottle of one. Revolutionary, right?
With eight locations scattered across the city; finding your perfect grape-juice is easier than ever with unique self-serve machines which are activated with a contactless card. Upon arrival, simply top up your Vagabond card (the Oyster card of the wine world) and enjoy an evening of tapping and tasting your way through whichever wines take your fancy.
Passionate to make great wine accessible to everybody, Vagabond allows wine-lovers (no matter their level of expertise) to discover new wines at affordable prices with their custom-made vino vending machines. Each wine is stored at the correct temperature meaning they are ready and waiting to be enjoyed by customers who can opt to sample a small taster or guzzle down a full glass (absolutely no judging here).
Above each tap are the tasting notes which will help guide you in your wine selection, but the super friendly team are also on hand to point you in the right direction and grab you a bottle if (or more likely, when) you’ve found the wine of your dreams.
Although the wine is the main event, Vagabond also have a menu which is jam-packed full of mouth-watering small plates, sandwiches, sharing boards and of course: cheese. Because you simply can’t have wine without cheese, am I right?
Vagabond are well-and-truly preparing for the cosy seasons with the launch of their mouth-wateringly indulgent new cheese fondue. The sharing platter is a delectable blend of Alpine Swiss, Emmental, raclette and Gruyère cheeses, each made using the traditional Alpine method (would we expect anything less?). Served alongside a toasted baguette, new potatoes, cornichons and balsamic onions, the platter is ideal to share between two or three people and costs £20pp.
Christobell Giles, Acting General Manager at Vagabond, said: “Cheese and wine is a match made in heaven, so we’re really excited to be elevating the Vagabond experience and introducing our cheese fondue this autumn. The team has been working hard to find the most delicious blend of Swiss cheeses and its perfect dipping and drinking pairings – we can’t wait for our regular self-pourers and new guests to try it for themselves.”
With a location within walking distance of Victoria train and coach stations and bars in Heathrow and Gatwick airports, this wonderful wine bar is the perfect spot to sip on a Savvy B before setting off on your travels. Looking for the perfect first-date spot or somewhere to have a gossip with your pals? Or perhaps you’re heading to one of the nearby theatres and fancy a pre-show Chardonnay? Whatever the occasion, Vagabond has something delicious for everybody to enjoy and the interactive element makes it all the more exciting. Cosy interiors, good vibes, delicious food and more wine than you can shake a stick at? It all sounds pretty darn wine-derful to us.
