Vegan activist and YouTuber Earthling Ed has moved his restaurant, Unity Diner, to a brand new east London location.
Unity Diner is a 100% vegan and non-profit restaurant that serves up a range of delicious plant-based dishes whilst raising money for grassroots animal rights movement, Surge. It all started in a small space in Hoxton last year, but it’s now moved on to bigger and better things: ironically taking over a former rib restaurant in the heart of Spitalfields.

Open now, the new-look diner is on a mission to serve incredible feel-good food to vegans, vegetarians and meat eaters alike. The menu features everything from “mozzarella” sticks and tuna-style poke bowls, to burgers and hot dogs. Of course, you can also expect some banging desserts, including sundaes and cheesecakes.

Unity Diner’s signature plate is the VFC ‘Zinga’ Burger, made with soy vegan fried chikken, a zinga patty, hash brown, cheeze, lettuce, red onion, vegan mayo and salsa.
The drinks menu has also been lovingly created with natural, plant-based ingredients and features the likes of the KeeWee with white rum, cucumber, homemade kiwi syrup, mint, lime and kiwi; the Ocean’s Garden with gin, apricot brandy, lime juice, blue curacao, sugar syrup, orange blossom water and aquafaba; and my personal favourite, Piers Morgan’s Tears, which changes colour when you add a vial of Morgan’s ‘tears’. The drink is made with gin, Cointreau, butterfly pea, homemade bay leaf syrup, lime and tonic water.
