I don’t know about you, but when I’m in a train station, I’m either making a mad dash for my platform or grabbing a quick snack before heading to my destination. But that might soon be changing, as the first-ever food hall located within a rail station in the UK is coming to London in the Autumn.
Later this year, Victoria Station, Britain’s second busiest train station, will open the first-of-its-kind food hall, bringing together street food traders at one of London’s busiest transport hubs.
What to expect from this first-of-a-kind food hall
The food hall will be able to host 200 guests, where they can grab a cocktail or beer, watch live sports and, of course, grab something delicious to eat.
Speaking of, the confirmed food traders for the food hall include:
- Duck Shed, known for their duck burgers, wraps and salad boxes.
- Thai House, serving up authentic Thai street food.
- Jollof Mama, a modern taste of Nigeria.
- Saba, offering make your own Korean bowls.
- Made in Puglia, dishing up authentic South Italian street food.
This offering ensures a diverse offering of cuisines from around the globe. There are still more traders set to be revealed, so keep your eyes peeled for future announcements.
Alongside the food, the cocktail bar will be the perfect spot to meet a friend for a drink in a central, easy-to-get-to spot. The station serves 53 million National Rail passengers and over 60 million tube passengers every year, so this new food hall will see plenty of footfall.
The interiors look pretty swish too, if these renderings are anything to go by.
The Market Place Food Hall Victoria is part of Market Place Food Hall’s growing list of food halls across the city, including venues in Leicester Square, St Paul’s, Vauxhall, Harrow and Peckham.
So it’ll soon be time to ditch the train pre-train meal deal for a drink and some premium street food.
