We’re under no illusions about how great The Twisted Fork will be.
I know what you’re thinking: a magic coffee shop sounds a little like something you’d find in the backstreets of Amsterdam, but hear me out. Up in Stoke Newington, your morning cuppa comes with a side of intrigue – before presumably disappearing into thin air and reappearing on the other side of the cafe. Welcome to The Twisted Fork, London’s first, and thus far only, magic coffee bar!
The Twisted Fork is a cafe with a legitimate claim to say “this is where the magic happens”. Owner and resident magician Richard is a member of The Magic Circle (the world’s foremost magic society), who performs incredible close up magic whilst you’re waiting for a brew. Meanwhile, the decorations are pretty stunning too. The Twisted Fork has been decked out with all kinds of mind tricks, including optical illusions and classical artwork with moving subjects. Basically, your eyes are going to be deceived wherever you look…
You’ll also find regular guest magicians plying their trade, and The Twisted Fork plan to run adult magic shows beginning in August. Equally lovely are the food offerings, with cronuts and croissants on the menu, along with brunch offerings. And of course, there’s coffee, which performs perhaps the most important magic trick of all: curing your caffeine deficiency…
