You’ll be surrounded by wildlife.
Ever wanted to feel like a Disney character, surrounded by little birds the whole day in a forest worthy of a fairytale? Well, the birds are unlikely to start talking at this treehouse pad in Jutland, but a stay here promises to provide a fantastical escape from the city. [Featured photos: thefunkyforest.com]
This magical place is called The Funky Forest and it’s situated in Langå, central Jutland. It takes around 3 and a half hours to drive there from Copenhagen, or you can get the train from Copenhagen Central Station to Aarhus, then another on to Langå in the same time as it would take to drive, and it’s the perfect place to relax.
A gorgeous treetop house awaits, with large, panoramic windows so that from the spacious, comfy bed you can see animals hopping from branch to branch on the lovely, 100-year-old oak tree right outside. This place is definitely at one with nature, but it has all of the modern amenities you’d need to have a comfortable stay, plus some additional perks.
Underfloor heating keeps your feet nice and toasty all year round, and just over a charming log bridge is a lovely sauna for guests to enjoy. There’s also a tranquil cabin in which you can enjoy some you-time, relaxing with a book, some gentle exercise or just gazing out over beautiful surroundings.
In the morning, an organic breakfast is served, and you can even order tapas, which has brilliant reviews online. It costs around 1.850 DKK for two people to stay here, including breakfast, per night, and you must stay for at least 2 nights. You can book on the website.
We’re now praying that Denmark can be added to the UK’s green travel list as soon as possible. This will surely be added to many a keen travellers bucket list!
