In London’s food scene, collaborations are hardly anything new. It feels like every week there’s news of some limited-time team-up between two famed London chefs, or a special merch drop that partners up a streetwear brand with a beloved bakery. (Okay, so I made that last example up, but you can bet it’s happened – or is in the works somewhere.) Heck, there have even been multiple opportunities for Londoners to buy Greggs branded clothing from Primark… But every now and then a collaboration comes along that just absolutely blindsides us. Case in point: beloved pastel-filled dessert paradise, The Knot Churros, has teamed up with none other than the Teletubbies.
Now, we’ve previously described The Knot Churros as a six-year-old’s dream due to its many sweet treats (and pretty pastel pink interiors). And it sure does bring out the inner child inside us. So maybe this collaboration makes perfect sense! After all, is there a more saccharine-sweet TV show than Teletubbies? Plus, Teletubbies already has some iconic food, some of which I’ve been waiting my whole life to try. Or am I the only one who thought Tubbie Custard looked incredible?
What to expect from The Knots Churro x Teletubbies collab
The collaboration has resulted in five special items being added to the menu. The menu includes dishes themed around each of the four Teletubbies and their friend Noo-Noo. Each one starts with two baked cinnamon churros and soft serve ice cream. The desserts are then taken to the max with a plethora of toppings and extras to give them colourful identities that correspond to the show’s characters.
Po’s special, for example, features “two baked cinnamon and sugar churros dipped in strawberry chocolate sprinkles, served with soft serve ice cream, strawberry sauce, strawberry sweets, red sprinkles, glitter and red cotton candy.” It’s a mouthful, in more ways than one! And we’d definitely need a nap after giving it a go.
If you’re in the mood to try one of the show’s most iconic foodstuffs, you’ll want to opt for the Noo-Noo special. That’s the one that comes with the famed pink custard. The same base of churros and soft serve ice cream is served with “blue sprinkles, blue glitter and [is] topped with warm pink tubbie custard.”
Unfortunately, there’s no Tubbie Toast on the menu. But at least we got the custard! That sweet, gooey, pink custard…
When can I try them?
The Teletubbies special menu is available now. But the dishes won’t be around for long. The special desserts will only be available until April 30th. So don’t dilly dally! Get on down to The Knot Churros ASAP.
