Time to brighten up your Autumn!
As the summer colours give way to the Autumnal brown, you may find yourself with the occasional desire to take in a splash of a different palette. In this event, look no further than the new roof of Temple station.
Here until April 30, 2022, the instaltion Back in the Air: A Meditation on Higher Ground by LAKWENA, will sit atop of riverside station, glowing in the intermittent sun of London. It’s the first time the station was built, over 150 years ago, that the roof has seen any change.
And, as changes go, this one is pretty damn special. Making up The Artist’s Garden, which has been four years in the making from theCoLAB Temple, is a brand new al fresco installation with an immersive floorscape that vistitors are invited to take a walk on.
Lakwena Maciver, the London based-artist, is known internationally for her vast and dynamic palette that offer profound messages, and this clearly shines through in her latest work.
The top of Temple Station is 1,400 square metres unbeknownst by many Londoners, often limited to those who can view it out of their window. It can be reached by well-worn steps which give way to the summit, offering a lovely view over the River Thames.
