What’s that? The highest-grossing tour of all time is still not done? And there’s more of it to enjoy in London right now? Yes, the Era’s Tour is back in the capital, with a string of five more dates for Taylor Swift and Paramore.
To celebrate, a mural designed by a fan has arrived in Shoreditch just in time for the upcoming dates, which follow the three London shows in June. Illustrator (and devout Swiftie) Kate Claxton was selected through a competition run by Visit London and Global Street Art to have her design displayed for the Swift faithful passing through the city to admire and snap a photo with before heading over to Wembley Stadium for the big event.
The design works to create both a striking image of the singer, as a well as surround her with typically ‘London’ sights. You’ll notice the Union Jack theme, with red phone boxes, the London Eye, Big Ben, the Gherkin and a London bus scattered throughout.
Speaking on the design Kate Claxton said: “To see my design come to life on the streets of London, in celebration of the best tour I have ever attended, has been an incredible experience and one I am very proud to be a part of.”
The design arrived this week with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, and will remain in its spot throughout the rest of the Eras Tour.
You can find the new Taylor Swift mural in Shoreditch on 83 Redchruch Street. Taylor Swift plays Wembley Stadium five times, starting from today (August 15, 16, 17, 19, & 20).
