The wait is over. Taylor Swift will make her long-awaited return to the UK, and she announced six London dates in the summer of 2024 earlier this year, as part of her ‘Eras’ world tour. Now, it seems even that isn’t enough to satisfy the demands of the dedicated Swifties, so another two dates in the capital have been announced this morning (November 14).
Dropping the bombshell this morning, the new dates were announced for August 19 & 20 to accompany the tour dates announced earlier in the year. In the summer, it was announced that Swift will play London’s Wembley Stadium on June 21 and June 22, as well as heading back two months later for another double-act on August 16 and August 17. Then, after a flurry of registrations flew into the site, even more dates were added across Europe, including extra dates in London on June 23 & August 15. Eight is clearly now the magic number, and, to be honest, we wouldn’t put it past more being confirmed… can she just book the stadium out for an entire month at this point.
Oh, and rolling out on tour with Taylor Swift, after a successful run in the US, is Paramore, fresh from the release of This Is Why earlier this year. In Taylor’s words, the pair will ‘frolic around Europe together.
As many have pointed out, there was a handy gap in her tour dates that have fuelled the ever-growing rumours of her playing a certain festival at Worthy Farm in the summer of ’24, but rumours hit stumbling blocks after it was announced that Swift will be playing Dublin across all three dates of the festival.
Before arriving in Europe, she will be saying “It’s me, hi” to cities in Mexico, Argentina, Brazil, Japan, Sydney, Australia and Singapore.
It marks her first headline UK shows since 2018, when she played in support of her album Reputation, which dropped all the way back in 2017. These shows will be the first chance for many fans to hear songs from her releases since then, which include Folklore, Evermore, and her latest record, Midnights.
How do I get tickets to the Taylor Swift UK tour?
