As a relatively lazy Londoner, I sure do love it when a place makes me feel as though I’ve been transported out of our chaotic capital city, without actually requiring me to travel any further than Zone 4. And a rather gorgeous spot that ticks that box in spades is Syon Park. Picture-perfectly perched over in West London, this 200-acre estate boasts history and horticulture in equal measure. So much so, that it’s just been named the best public garden to visit in London.
Syon Park has been named the best public garden in London
Syon Park’s shiny new accolade comes courtesy of the outdoor living experts over at White Stores. They put a whopping 240 gardens under the microscope for the occasion, analysing each on based on factors including facilities, on-site attractions, Google ratings, annual rainfall, average temperature, and annual hours of sunlight. Yes, they were pretty darn thorough. They then crunched the numbers in order to give each garden a rating out of 100.

Topping the charts as the best public garden in London is Syon Park. The historic hotspot managed to earn itself a rather impressive score of 85.44 out of 100. Praised for its hefty variety of on-site attractions (including a wildflower meadow, an arboretum, and a world-renowned glasshouse); Syon Park is a one-stop shop for your summertime shenanigans. It basks in 2641 annual hours of sunlight and is also home to over 400 species of tree. Not bad, hey?
