Socially distanced cinema awaits at the Sunset Drive In Cinema.
Some say the best thing about driving is the thrill of the open ride. Whilst that may be true, it’s about to be surpassed this summer by the arrival of an epic new summer activity – the Sunset Drive In Cinema, which makes the best thing about driving the destination, as you can kick back, put your feet up on the dashboard, and immerse yourself in some of the UK’s favourite films. Tickets are on sale now, but you can read on for more info.
Currently making camp at Twyford Avenue Sports Ground in Acton, the Sunset Drive In Cinema has added a little horsepower to what was looking like a dangerously empty summer. Over the course of July, they’ll screen crowdpleasing classics such as Dirty Dancing, Back to the Future, Space Jam and Grease, along with modern favourites like Django Unchained, Knives Out, The Great Gatsby, and The Wolf of Wall Street. All you’ve got to do is roll up and park, and enjoy all the magic that Hollywood has to offer.
All the necessary social distancing measures are in place; all cars will be parked two metres apart, tickets will be scanned through car windows, and the whole shebang is non-contact. You’ll be able to pre-order from a menu of classic drive-in cinema food too, with burgers, fries, and shakes all available for collection once you’ve arrived.
The action kicks off before the opening titles start, too, as musical entertainment will be on hand to warm up the crowd before the film begins. Oh, and by combining dinner, entertainment, and a film, I reckon it’s the all-in-one date night you’ve been looking for!
