Sub Cult are rolling into the City of London.
Anyone who’s spent time around the London street food scene is in pretty full-throated agreement: Sub Cult and their smashing sandwiches are the best thing since sliced bread. Having graced the markets of London for five years – collaborating with Michelin-star chefs along the way – they’ve announced plans to open a bricks and mortar spot in One New Change in June.
Honestly, if you’ve never tried Sub Cult before, then you’re really missing out – I mean, they’ve been honoured with a ‘Best Sandwich’ award at the British Street Food Awards, so you know they’re good. Creations include The Rodeo Sub, with bavette steak, truffle mayo, onion jam, chilli oil, and parmesan, and The Sub Marine, filled with pork, calamari, salsa verde mayo, and seared scallops.
They’ve also got some rather wicked vegetarian and vegan options, and will bring new subs The Subano (inspired by the classic Cuban sandwich) and Queen Bee (a chicken, ham, and chilli honey hybrid) to the restaurant.
Sub Cult’s new spot with also debut a range of breakfast subs for the City worker on the go, with vegan and Full English-inspired options available. If you’ve got a sweet tooth, rest assured that they’ll stock pastries from east London favourites Rinkoff Bakery, and slices of wonderfully OTT pies from A Pie Party.
For those of you who’ve been before: we share your excitement. And for those who haven’t, we can assure you that this is one cult you’ll definitely want to join…
Find it at 82 Watling Street, EC4M 9BX – an exact opening date hasn’t been confirmed, but it’ll be sometime in June 2019.
