Your Best Concert Photos Could Win You Free Gig Tickets For A Year

The second best part of going to a gig is looking back through all the photos and videos you captured during the night.

And, sure, most of them might be blurry snaps with the odd thumb-print in the corner but we’ve all got those treasured pictures that we look through time and time again. Feeling reminiscent yet?

So, if that sentence has inspired you to trawl back through all of your favourite concert snaps, now’s the chance to take a good hard look and round up the best of the best. Not just for your own enjoyment but something bigger and better: the chance to have the next 12 months of gigs lined up and paid for in advance…all thanks to StubHub UK.

StubHub UK’s Fan Photography competition is your best chance to combine your love of gigs with your top fan photos. No matter whether you gasped when Ariana took to the stage, or you cried when your team got hammered at the Derby, your pictures could win you a healthy gig calendar for the next year. But the focus of this competition isn’t to take the best snap of your favourite artist, but rather everything else that happened over the course of the event. No matter whether you took a hilarious shot of your friend, caught by surprise, or you managed to capture the split second where an animal ran onto the pitch, StubHub UK wants to see it. And winning means the chance to see everyone from Ariana Grande to Billie Eilish and your favourite sports stars – for free!

And even if you don’t win the grand prize, there’s still a treat for the runners up. StubHub UK will also be awarding a first place prize to one person from each individual category (find out more below), who’ll win £300 of vouchers.

There are five subcategories to the competition and you’re free to enter all of them as many times as you like. And don’t be put off by the “photographer” badge, because this competition is open to amateurs/non professionals too. If that’s not an excuse to line up some new gigs for the immediate future, we don’t know what is…

The full categories are:

Getting Emotional

Captured the atmosphere at a festival this summer? This category is all about capturing those emotions – happy or sad – that come out at a live event.

Pets Corner

Cats that invade the pitch, the famous hawks of Wimbledon and the dolled-up dogs that go to music festivals with their owners; this category needs your best images of unexpected animals at a live event.

Best Fan-Made Banners

Fans can be a little bit crazy, and their banners often reflect that. If you’ve pictured an amazing banner, send it our way.

When Unexpected Things Happen

Not everything in life goes to plan. Perhaps you’ve captured a snap of a drink going everywhere, coming out of the mosh pit looking barely alive, or you’ve buried your head in your match day programme as your team takes a drubbing.

Bored Parents

Not everyone at a live event always wants to be there. If your dad took you to see One Direction and joined a conference call, read a book or fell asleep while he was there, this one’s for you.

So now you know the sort of pictures StubHub are looking for – but how do you apply? It’s straightforward enough: just upload your best snaps to either Twitter or Instagram using the hashtag #ThatStubHubFeelingLIVE and tagging @StubHubUK. If you want to enter a photo you’ve already uploaded for your budding social media audience, don’t fret – just re-upload it using the hashtag with a quick throwback and nobody’ll notice a difference.

The competition is open now and closes on November 6 – when the best overall photo out of all of the entrants will be announced. The judging panel includes Capital FM’s Roman Kemp, renowned photographer Ron Timehin and StubHub UK’s Róisín O’Shea, so best get scouring through your favourite pics to be in with a chance of winning!
