The malls-and-monsters world of Stranger Things no longer just exists inside your television screen. In fact, a fiery rift has opened up somewhere in London and unleashed a host of supernatural creatures, shady scientists and walkie-talkie-wielding heroes into our reality – and we know just where you can find them. Stranger Things: The Experience is now open at Troubadour Brent Cross Studios, found in North West London. Leave behind the city and discover the otherworldly delights of 1986 Hawkins at this sprawling film and TV studio complex because it won’t be there forever as the experience finishes on January 8.
Troubadour Brent Cross Studios is a newly refurbished venue which took over a former Toys ‘R’ Us building in late 2021, so it’ll be continuing the trend of providing entertainment for the masses. The giant studio complex has no shortage of performance space, 32,000 sqft to be precise, where the cinematic settings of Stranger Things can be brought to life in spectacular fashion. You’ll be able to find it just a 10-minute walk from Brent Cross station or around 30 minutes from Kings Cross station.
Once you step inside, you will be sucked into your very own interactive adventure. Visit Hawkins lab and volunteer as a test subject – who knows you might just unlock your own special powers and get to put them to good use helping the demogorgon-fighting gang save the day. They may be young, but these courageous characters are chock full of Stranger Things wisdom, so make sure to use that to your advantage when exploring the ominous halls of this secret-laden laboratory. Plus, to really plunge you into the universe of the Netflix hit and create a sense of otherworldly realism, there’ll be a variety of eye-popping special effects.
When you emerge from the lab – heart-soaring and fingertips fizzing with power from your heroic exploits no doubt – you’ll get to enjoy the many pleasures of the Mix-Tape Area for as long as you wish. Bathed in a kaleidoscope of neon and lined with familiar Stranger Things haunts such as Scoops Ahoy, Family Video and the Palace Arcade, it will be like stepping straight into the ‘80s. Immortalise your experience with a photo op in the Byers’ living room, wash down tasty food with exclusive themed cocktails from the bar and chat with the intriguingly peculiar characters that practically radiate mystery – trust us, you won’t be able to resist.
Don’t forget to don your best ‘80s garm. We’re talking shoulder pads, scrunchies and suspenders (a la Eleven), bright pastels and big hair – go all out. Stranger Things: The Experience is an unmissable invitation to explore the upside down and you’ll want to make sure you’re dressed for the occasion. Grab tickets now and be among the first to discover the wonderfully weird world that lies behind the doors of Troubadour Brent Cross Studios.
