Starbucks have recreated the legendary ‘moist-maker’ sandwich from Friends for their new festive menu.
Remember the Friends season five episode where Ross completely loses it after his boss eats his sandwich? In his defense, this was no ordinary sandwich and he was going through a lot, it hadn’t been his day, week, month or even his year… Well, Starbucks are recreating the legendary dish for their 2020 Christmas menu and we’ll soon get to see what all the fuss was about for ourselves! For those that don’t eat, sleep and breathe Friends, the sandwich that sparked Ross’ oh-so-entertaining rage consisted of Thanksgiving leftovers and a very special ingredient. Die-hard fans of the show will know that this ingredient was a gravy-soaked layer of bread, also know as the moist-maker. Starbucks will soon be home to ‘The One with the Gravy Layer Sandwich’ complete with its own moist-maker and if Ross’ reaction is anything to go by, it’s not one to miss.
The iconic sandwich will include pulled ham hock, turkey, butternut crust, cheddar cheese, red cabbage and a moist slice of sourdough “steeped in turkey and cranberry gravy” in the middle, and it’ll be yours for £4.59. In the words of Janice, “Oh. My. God!”
You can also look forward to their Very Much Vegan wrap and ‘Tis the Season Turkey sandwich, which are also featuring on the new festive menu. As for their Christmassy beverages, their much-loved toffee nut, gingerbread and eggnog lattes will be making a comeback thus year. And new to the line-up is the truffle deluxe hot chocolate, which is as rich and chocolatey as it sounds.
The One with the Gravy Layer sandwich was set to hit Starbucks’ stores all over the UK this Thursday (November 5), however due to the latest lockdown announcement, we’ll have to wait until next month to try one in store. Although with any luck, we’ll be able to order one straight to our doors via UberEats in no time!
