Just in time for the return of outdoor hospitality!
Please note: this venue has now closed, and is now the new home of sister site Flat Iron Square.
Picture it. In less than one week, you could be sat in a beer garden tucking into your street food of choice and sinking that well-earned pint that you’ve had to wait nearly *checks notes* five months for. [Featured Image: St. Felix’s Place].
A hard ol’ slog has been endured by everyone during that time; but yes, it’s finally legal to sit outside in a pub or restaurant from Monday (April 12).
From next week, you might well be frequenting some new places as you drink in the euphoria of the grand openings. That’s because we’re still a while away from all pubs and restaurants opening, due to the outdoor-only rule.
So, what better time is there for a brand new outdoor eating and drinking space to open up to celebrate restrictions being reduced? St Felix Place in Borough can boast just that.

From Wednesday, April 14, Londoners can scurry into the new outdoor spot in London Bridge to gorge on a host of scrumptious street food and pints on tap. This onsite brewery and taproom – which comes from the team behind Flat Iron Square and Goods Way – is an all-new project where you can be guaranteed a hearty welcome back to the summery vibes of beer gardens.
Their resident food includes the two best delicacies that one could offer alongside barrels of beer: barbecues and pizza. Courtesy of Texas Joe’s Adobe and The Good Slice.
The new taproom from Lagunitas Brewing Company offers idiosyncratic craft beers that cannot be found anywhere else in London. Plus, there’s a top drawer selection of whiskey, cocktails and non-alcoholic brews, meaning everyone and anyone can celebrate the return of socialising outdoors.
As the attendees at St Felix Place make up for their lost time of pints and food, a great soundtrack will float through their ears to make it all the more sweet. Weekly local DJ sets, curated performances, acoustic shows, book-swap indicatives, plus many other one-off publishing and live music events are pencilled in between now and the summer.
We’re tantalisingly close to this becoming a reality. A beer and some grub in the London sun is really going to be an actual thing over the next months. If the sun and warm weather decides to stay for more than two days at a time, that is.
PLEASE NOTE: St Felix Place opens for food and drink on April 14, but due to demand and Covid regulations it is recommended to book beforehand. Seal your spot with up to six others via the St. Felix Place website.
Location: 45 Southwark Street, SE1 9HP. Nearest station is London Bridge. See it on Google Maps.
