It’s dark, it’s cold, the weather is – quite literally – raining all over our parade. But fear not, folks – it’s not all bad. In a bid to brighten up some of the gloomiest days of the year, a breathtaking sound and light show will land at St Martin-in-the-Fields for five days next week, illuminating the historic church (both inside and out) with a celebration of light like never before.
SPACE by Luxmuralis
Titled ‘SPACE‘, the immersive experience will take visitors on a vibrant voyage through the universe, injecting some much-needed light into the capital city this winter. The enchanting installation will see colourful projections splashed across both the interior and exterior of the Grade I listed building, and a mesmerising soundscape will help transport visitors to far-flung galaxies.

The experience will begin outside the building, where incredible imagery will wrap around the church’s centuries-old architecture. It will continue inside with impressive projections and atmospheric sounds, allowing visitors to get up close and personal with the likes of stars, planets, immersive meteor showers, and rocket launches. The experience will culminate in a 15-minute seated sequence, shining a light (literally) on our relationship with planet Earth, and beyond.
St Martin-in-the-Fields acts as the perfect backdrop to this dazzling display that’s been created by Peter Walker and Luxmuralis. Their innovative approach to storytelling aims to make art accessible to all by providing the public with incredible artwork in rather unexpected places. ‘SPACE’ lands in London, following sellout success across the UK.

For one night only (February 18), Londoners can also attend a silent disco inside the installation. DJs will play across three channels, and guests can dance the night away, surrounded by out-of-this-world illuminations.
Space will run at St Martin-in-the-Fields from February 17 – February 21. The silent disco will take place on February 18. Timed slots are available to book between 5.30-9.4pm daily, with ticket prices starting from just £8 per person. Find out more and plan your visit here.
