An intriguing new collaboration is about to land in London for a limited time only, which will appeal to lovers of hard liquor and spicy noodles. London’s Slurp Thai restaurant is teaming up with SLY DOG Rum on a special dish to commemorate World Rum Day on Saturday, July 12. They’re each contributing what they do best and have together created a boozy foodie concoction that might just be London’s drunkest dish.
The SLY DOG Drunken Noodles will be available exclusively at Slurp Thai from July 12-19, and they provide quite the kick. To make the new menu item, they’ve drawn inspiration from Thailand’s iconic Drunken Noodles (Pad Kee Mao). And they’ve also mixed up a duo of special drinks.
The noodles are made with “flat noodles, basil, garlic, homemade stir-fry sauce infused with SLY DOG Spiced Rum, lime leaves, bell pepper, green beans and bird’s eye chili”. That means you’ve got a double whammy of spicy food and spiced rum to tantalise your taste buds.
Pairing drinks with London’s drunkest dish
Accompanying the new dish are two limited edition drinks: the Spiced & Stormy and the Lemongrass Mojito. The former mixes together SLY DOG Spiced Rum, ginger beer, galangal, lime, and bitters. Meanwhile, the special mojito uses SLY DOG Stoned Fruit, lemongrass syrup, mint, and soda. Guests can order the special drinks at Slurp or Dang’s – the secret downstairs cocktail bar.
To commemorate the launch of London’s drunkest dish, they’re even slashing the prices. Guests can enjoy the boozy noodles and one of the special drinks for just £20 in a combo deal.
But what if you want to try both drinks? Well, you could take a friend and both get a combo and share each other’s drinks. Or you could head to Dang’s on Saturday, July 12, for a special Rum Day Happy Hour between 5-7pm. There, guests can order two SLY DOG Rum cocktails for just £16. (And they’re usually £11 each!)
So, what do you say? Fancy a round of London’s drunkest dish?
