Judging by the city’s love affair with bottomless brunches, London has quite a thing for being told they can eat or drink as much as anything in a certain time frame. But has anyone ever dangled the prospect of bottomless lasagna in front of you?
Senza Fondo has just opened its doors in Shoreditch and is offering diners the chance to eat as much lasagna as they possibly can. If you or any of your nearest and dearest fancy yourselves as the next Garfield, then you’ve found your next spot to be a loyal local.
And of course, we had to try it out…
Owner Joe Worthington announced the Italian-American restaurant concept at the end of last year on social media. He described Senza Fondo as: “a home from home, [with] world-class lasagna, cracking wines at decent prices, and a bar out back where you can settle in for a great drink and a proper natter.”
Serving up lasagna by the slice, you can bag yourselves unlimited portions of the stuff for £20. They’ve got some impressive talent in the kitchen cooking up that hearty food. Chef Michael Bagnall, who has previously appeared at Victoria Park’s Bruno and Margate’s Sargasso, is taking the reins at Senza Fondo. Guests going all in on the lasagna can choose from slow-cooked beef or artichoke lasagna.
More than just lasagna
But it’s not just about lasagna here (even if that’s what we’ve got our eyes on). The menu of Italian-American fare also includes the likes of fettuccine alfredo and casarecce with mushroom ragu. If you’ve got a truly expansive appetite you can warm up on starters such as burrata with truffle and honey butter, sage polenta rosti, and mortadella with pistachio.

For dessert, you can choose from dishes ranging from tiramisu to apple pie, and olive oil gelato. If you fancy a quick fix, you can also head to their lunchtime hatch to pick up one of their ‘lasangwiches’, which will be in limited supply every day.
Should you stick around till later, you can also pick up a house negroni for £5 at the Kevin Lasagna Bar (yes, named after the footballer) before sitting down for your meal, with live music also planned for the evenings.
