For a city where everything always feels pretty darn huge; London is actually home to an abundance of alleyways, passages, and teeny-tiny side streets. But if you’ve got a sweet-tooth, and are in need of a caffeine fix; there’s really only one that you need to know about. And that, my friends, is Brook Mews North. Because down this particular passageway, you’ll find one of London’s biggest (and smallest) secrets.
Secret Layers is the name, and serving up tasty tubs of homemade tiramisu through a hidden hole in the wall is the game. Yes, really. This tiny tiramisu window has swung open its shutters in central London, providing Londoners with delicious desserts through an unassuming window that’s been built into the wall.
Having recently popped-up near Paddington, Secret Layers is already making quite the name for itself on London’s tiramisu scene (I’m sure that’s a thing, okay…). They have four flavours to choose from (classic, nutella, biscoff, and pistachio), and they’re priced between £8.50 and £11 per 260g tub.
They’re everything you’d want and need from a tiramisu, really. Deliciously light and creamy, the perfect kick of coffee, unbelievably moreish, and – most importantly – handed to you in the cutest way possible. What more could you ask for, hey? In case you’re wondering, from this point forward I’d like all my desserts to be handed to me through a secret little window.
You’ll find Secret Layers at Brook Mews North, W23BX. Orders must be made in advance and you’ll need to keep an eye on their Instagram for opening days and times, as they change each week.
