If you hear screams in the City of London, it’s usually something that you want to walk away from. A sign of something to avoid at the best. However, in the case of this pop up event, it may guide you to a wonderful stress-busting experience. London’s first ever Screamatorium is coming to Leadenhall Market, where a variety of tension reducing activities await.
Through the week, from September 27-30, Leadenhall Market’s Screamatorium will be ready for you to ease your post-summer September blues. Maybe you’ve been blindsided by the change in the weather, or from returning from the vacation you went on. Or perhaps it’s sending the kids back to school, and the arrival of Christmas decorations in shops already that’s got you grinding your teeth with stress. No matter the reason, the Screamatorium can sort you out.
Start it off with the name-sake decibel meter where you can find out just how much of a scream you’ve been holding inside you. After that, bash away at a traditional Whack-a-Mole game to really get that tensions out of those shoulders. When you’re done, soothe those ravaged throats with a sweet treat from Leadenhall’s patisserie Aux Merveilleux de Fred in the meditation zone and cake corner. That’s right, there’s a full on cake corner in the meditation zone. Perhaps this is the secret to why I can’t consistently meditate – the lack of a cake corner. And when you’re all done, well, you’ve just got all that Leadenhall Market has to offer to explore.
Free to visit, with no need to book, the Screamatorium will be open from 11:30 AM until 7 PM daily. Perfect for those stepping out of the office for a breather, or to spend your lunch break de-stressing.
