There’s nothing quite like seeing a fictional brand of food pop up in your favourite show and fantasising about seeing what the fuss is about for yourself, only to realise it’ll never happen.
In this instance, however, it can. Scoops Ahoy, made famous by the deadly loveable double-act of Steve (Joe Keery) and Robin (Maya Hawke) in Stranger Things, is available in from today (November 6) London thanks to a collaboration between Netflix and Pan-n-Ice.
You’ll be able to find the trusty ice cream being served out of a van in London on November 6-7, stationed at the Outernet Building by Tottenham Court Road station, with the bus then heading out on tour to Bath, Bristol, Birmingham, Bristol, Cardiff, Liverpool, York, Newcastle, Kent, and Oxford. Today also happens to mark ‘Stranger Things Day’, which is the date that Will Byers went missing in 1983 in season one of the hit show.
If you miss the bus in London, don’t fret. You’ll be able to find the flavours at Pan-n-Ice until spring next year at their Westfield White City (from November 6) and Westfield Stratford (from November 22).
You may remember Scoops Ahoy being served up at the Stranger Things experience in the city last year, and anyone pining for those sweet flavours again will be excited to hear this news. Flavours are sure to turn you upside down and they include: The Cherry Rift, comprised of a warm brownie base with cherry ice cream, praline pecans and a US flag; Hey Hawkins, a vegan cookie dough base covered by mint choc chip ice cream, sprinkles and glacé cherry; U.S.S Butterscotch, which comes with a sticky toffee waffle base with butterscotch ice cream, mini butterscotch pieces; and The Upside Down Bubba, a soft red velvet cookie dough with black cookies and cream ice cream and red chocolate cracking shell. Steve and Robin would gleam with pride after handing one of these over to Dustin following his walkie-talkie request.
The arrival of Scoops Ahoy ice cream comes at a fitting time, too. Even though it’s cooling down in London, the Hawkins mood is ramping up due to the arrival of Stranger Things: The First Shadow at London’s West End this month. (Read about the upcoming performance here)
Scoops Ahoy will be available from the Outernet Building between 12pm – 11pm on November 6-7.
