Get your skates on–literally–because SantaSkate is gliding back to London this weekend to spread some Christmas magic. Organised by London Street Skates, this jolly event is their biggest (and best) skate night of the year, seeing hundreds of skating Santas rolling through the capital to make the streets even more festive beyond the twinkling lights, towering trees, and eager shoppers.
SantaSkate 2024 in London
The merry gathering will be taking place on Saturday, December 14 from 4:30, kick-starting the skate from Wellington Arch at 5pm. Over the course of two hours, the Santas will be skating past iconic landmarks, including a half-time stop near Trafalgar Square (conditions permitting).
Best of all, you’re free to participate if you’re one of the many committed skaters here in London. All you have to do is get a ticket, which comes with a Santa suit if you don’t have your own, and meet the group at Wellington Arch on the big day.
The route will also conclude at The Star Of Kings, a beloved pub on the edges of Kings Cross, for one of the biggest (and undeniably festive) skater parties of the year.
If you’d rather spectate, there are no viewing points but the route is posted online if you want to go and find the perfect place to witness this weird yet completely wonderful sighting. But be sure to give yourself plenty of time if you want to catch the Clauses.
Tickets will go towards the London Street Skates community, helping them continue to skate on the roads of London. Tickets without a Santa suit cost £10, or opt for a ticket with the suit included for £13.50. For more information, click here to visit their official webiste.
So, if you’re ready to roll into the season with spadefuls of festive merriment, grab your skates and channel St. Nick for an unforgettable evening of skating and community.
