Valentine’s Day fall short this year? Don’t worry, Samsung wants to help you find a date who makes your heart skip a beat— literally.
You’re on your favourite dating app and your recent match seems perfect, your absolute ideal type. They’ve got the looks, the job, the right ratio of solo to group pictures, the dog! You message, a little light flirting and then you finally decide to meet for that all-important first date… and nothing. No chemistry at all. You’re trying to imagine kissing them and honestly, it’s just not happening.
This is the plight of almost half of us Brits according to a new study commissioned by Samsung KX. We go for our type on paper, but when it comes to meeting them in person almost half of us admit to not feeling a spark. Maybe it’s time to accept that we don’t know ourselves as well as we think. Maybe it’s time to get technical about things…
This is where Samsung KX comes in: they’re doing some serious matchmaking at their home of innovation in Coal Drops Yard, Kings Cross. They have collaborated with dating app, happn, to host the ultimate micro-dating events for those on the quest to find love. One where you’ll be able to use a Samsung Galaxy Watch to track your heart rate and reveal who you have real life chemistry with.
Guests can partake in up to three 15-minute dates in one big night of romance. Are sparks flying? Is it a dud? This is your chance to find out who really gets your heart racing.
Kicking off on Thursday February 20, the #SamsungKX micro-dating series will be spread across five events over the month, culminating on Thursday March 19. And there’ll be a range of heterosexual and same-sex sessions so that whatever your orientation, you’re in with a fighting chance to find love.
The experience will also include complimentary drinks and plenty of fun, virtual ice-breakers to get the conversation flowing. And if things are going well with your date, why not move things over to The Connection Corner where there’ll be a range of romantic, digital activities for you to try together. It’s also the perfect spot to take a cute Insta pic of you and your date to capture the moment. You never know, you might be showing it to your grandchildren one day!
And The Connection Corner isn’t just for micro-dating visitors! All couples, friends and families are invited to come along and take a moment for each other. Within this bespoke area of Samsung KX, guests can enjoy a complimentary drink and spend quality time enjoying a range of virtual activities. The Connection Corner is available daily until 19th March at the following times: Monday – Saturday: 1pm-2pm and 5pm-8pm and Sundays: 1pm-2pm and 4pm-6pm.
Drop ins are in 15-minute slots on a first come, first served basis. And guests will be able to take part in activities like Blind Date Contour where you have to sketch your loved one’s portrait by just looking at them using the Tab S6, no peeking at the screen! And Couple Shot where you’ll be let loose with the S10 and challenged to take the ultimate selfies. Even if you’re not looking for love— bring your friends, bring your kids, bring your mum!
And if you are on the lookout for ‘the one’, don’t miss out on your chance to take part in a micro-dating session. No more wasting time and money on bad dates. Forget your ‘type’— rip up that tick list! It’s time to take romance into 2020 and let real life chemistry guide you towards the best dates of your life!
