For most, Christmas Day is for staying home and creating chaos delicious food and lasting memories in the kitchen, but others might prefer the thought of somebody else doing the cooking so they can focus solely on the drinking. I’d take a guess that you are one of those people, since you’re here reading this – and you know what, if anything’s going to persuade me to leave the house on December 25, it’s bottomless brunch. Free-flowing wine to wash down a roast dinner that you haven’t had to slave over for hours? Send me the pin.
Now, it is a bottomless brunch, so there’ll also be a bunch of breakfast classics like waffles and pancakes, as well as all the components of a Full English. There’ll also be a selection of sushi and salads, for some reason. But it’s really all about the main event: a turkey roast with all the trimmings, including crispy roast potatoes, pigs in blankets, stuffing, sprouts, vegetables and cranberry sauce. All followed by a choice of incredible puddings, of course. You’ll be welcomed with a glass of Champagne, before moving onto bottomless red or white wine to go with your meal.
Soundtracking the day will be a live jazz trio, and out the window will be glorious views of the Italian Gardens in Hyde Park. So, if you’re stuck for what to do on Christmas Day in central London, here’s a very eligible option.
Tickets to Royal Lancaster London’s Christmas Day brunch cost £195pp for tables between 1pm and 4pm (last sitting at 2:30pm). You can book your table here.
