Royal Albert Home brings the music from their home to yours.
It’s sobering to see the great concert halls and venues of London stand empty right now, even if it is for a really vital cause. However, rather than dwelling on this, the Royal Albert Hall are helping to bring the music to you, with a new series called Royal Albert Home. It’ll feature world-renowned musicians delivering concerts from their homes, and it kicks off tonight with a performance from Rufus Wainwright.
The free streaming programme will run throughout the UK lockdown, and draw on some serious musical talent. Aside from Wainwright, who’ll begin the series with a concert at 8:15pm tonight, you’ll also be able to see the likes of Baxter Drury, Ayanna Witter-Johnson, and Alfie Boe over the course of the next few weeks. Even more artists are set to be announced soon, so do keep your eyes peeled for more big names.
The concerts are entirely free to watch, and you can catch them on the Royal Albert Hall’s website. There’s currently one a day until April 17th, so you can basically tune in every night to catch a new concert and perchance discover your new sound of the lockdown!
