On the very same day that Oxford Street is being lit up by a sea of celestial bodies for Christmas, London is celebrating another star just a stone’s throw away as a Robbie Williams pop-up lands in Covent Garden.
The Rock DJ himself is the subject of a hotly-anticipated Netflix docuseries, and the pop-up on November 2-5 celebrates its launch and the career of the singer on what coincides with the 25th anniversary of his solo career. With the series dropping on Netflix on November 8, this ensures fans won’t have to spend the remaining days lying in their bed (with thoughts running through their head) waiting for the big day.
What can I see at the Robbie Williams pop-up?
There will be attendees who consider themselves diehard fans—maybe they’ve been around for all 25 years of his solo career. There will also be those who love to belt out his hits when on the dancefloor at 1am, propped up by Jägerbombs (what can we say? The man – and in particular that anthem you may know called ‘Angels’ – is partly responsible for many a Sunday morning headache… and could you think of a higher compliment?). Both parties should be able to take something from this event.
‘Robbie Williams: The Pop Up’ will showcase never-before-seen footage from his illustrious career, as well as provide the archetypal photo opps we see at pop-ups. Plus, there’s the chance to win signed merchandise, which is what even the casual fans will be donning the next time they set foot on a sticky club floor.
Guests will even be invited to watch part of Episode 1 in the screening room ahead of time, kicking of the documentary early to see the story behind Robbie Williams’ journey to becoming one of the UK’s most successful recording artists of all time. And nothing beats seeing something before everyone else does.
‘Robbie Williams: The Pop Up’ runs from November 2-5 at 45 Wellington Street, WC2E 7BN. After it finishes, ‘Robbie Williams’ drops as a four-part series on Netflix on November 8.
