Meet Reyka Vodka, the charmingly offbeat spirit of Iceland.

Iceland is home to staggeringly large glaciers, surprising hot springs, mega volcanoes and one of the world’s largest puffin colonies. It’s also the home of Reyka Vodka. Made using a distinctly Icelandic process involving glacial spring water and lava rock filtration, this unique spirit brings a taste of more adventurous shores to your door. Visit their Icelandic Adventure Bar pop-up for a taste of Reyka Vodka cocktails in Shoreditch (walk-ins welcome), or try your hand at shaking up an Icelandic tipple at home with our tasty cocktail recipe!

But what makes Reyka Vodka so different, we hear you cry. Well, a number of things, actually. The journey of this one-of-a-kind vodka begins with some of the purest water in the world, sourced from a glacial spring that runs through a 4000-year-old lava field. Trust us, if you’re living in London, you’ve never tasted water like this! The vodka then undergoes a volcanic filtration process where it’s filtered through lava rocks to give it the crispest, cleanest taste.

And to top it all off, the Reyka distillery is powered by geothermal energy from underground volcanoes. Yes, underground volcanoes! It’s quite possibly the coolest form of environmentally friendly energy out there.

To celebrate their unique heritage and adventurous spirit, Reyka Vodka are hosting an incredible pop-up bar in Shoreditch inspired by all things Iceland! Open at Truman Brewery on Brick Lane from October 21 – 23, The Icelandic Adventure Bar is the perfect spot to indulge in a delicious cocktail or two. No bookings necessary – walk-ins are very welcome! But, if you can’t make it down in time, why not try making a spectacular Subterranean Spritz cocktail at home? See the recipe below.
