Queen of Hoxton, everyone’s favourite Shoreditch rooftop bar, is transforming into a Luchadoras’ hangout.
Dedicated to the baddest bitches in Mexican female wrestling, the terrace will be teeming with tacos and tequila all summer long. The space will open from May 2, ready for non-stop fiestas (and certainly no siestas).
The rooftop is inspired by the lively Mexican town of San Cristóbal, and the vibe certainly reflects that. Sip on giant frozen margaritas and feast on filthy tacos, or jump in the wrestling ring and learn some new moves.
Before anything else though, let’s taco ’bout the food. There’ll be blue corn tacos filled with slow cooked pork and pineapple, vegan tacos with spicy squash and courgette, fresh nachos with all the toppings, and more. As for the cocktails, you can expect a truck load of tequila. It’ll come in the form of Watermelon Palomas, Chilli and Mango Margaritas, Frozen Pineapple Margaritas and giant, sharing Margaritas.
As always, Queen of Hoxton will be hosting a bunch of events on their rooftop throughout the summer months. Working closely with their culture curator, Paola Feregrino–Rodriguez, as well as other members of London’s Mexican community, the events will include everything from Trump piñata making (lol) to feminist embroidery classes.
Location: Queen of Hoxton, 1 Curtain Road, EC2A 3JX.
Opening hours: Monday – Sunday, midday – 10pm (until October 2019).
