Cutting edge science makes the magic happen at The Wands and Wizard Exploratorium.
Found in the heart of Soho, The Wands and Wizard Exploratorium is a five story wizard-themed house “where magic is brought to life with science, technology and design.” It’s been brought to us by the geniuses behind magical cocktail bar The Cauldron, and to celebrate their arrival, they’ve decided the time is ripe for an epic pumpkin carving event, running throughout October. This may just be the ultimate Halloween experience and I can honestly think of no greater location for such an occasion! Book your tickets here.
Though The Wands and Wizards Exploratorium will eventually have five floors of enchantment, the first level is the only one currently open: a magical retail shop where you can buy interactive and educational products. Eventually, you’ll be able to design your own wand at the Magic Wand Experience (set to open in November), and use it to unlock doors, cast spells, and make your way through the Wizard Exploratorium. It’ll feature wooden floors, window displays, a mysterious underground stone vault, and secret miniature doors, all of which we’re itching to explore.
But for now, it’s all about the pumpkins. Halloween without pumpkin carving is like Christmas without carolling (or presents) – just plain wrong. Fortunately, this seriously spellbinding venue will bring all of your Halloween dreams to life! Don’t worry about getting your hands too dirty, some of the hard work will be done for you. Your pumpkin will come pre-shelled and you’ll also be provided with tools and a template.
In addition, each ticket comes with a mug of the venue’s signature ‘HallowCream’ – a wonderful winter warmer topped with homemade butterscotch whipped cream! If you’re seeking something a little stronger, it can be made alcoholic with your choice of cognac, rum or bourbon. I’ll take three please.
A trip to The Wands and Wizard Exploratorium for a pumpkin carve and a glass of HallowCream will set you back less than £18, and you can find your tickets here. What are you waiting for? These pumpkins aren’t going to carve themselves…
