O InterContinental London Park Lane está a entrar nas celebrações do Diwali mais cedo, com uma experiência gastronómica de uma noite apenas no dia 24 de outubro. O chefe executivo Lalit Kumar juntou-se ao chefe convidado e semi-finalista do MasterChef: The Professionals, Arbinder Singh Dugal, para um jantar especial de degustação indiano de cinco pratos. Com um preço de £95pp, os convidados poderão desfrutar de “pratos de festival elevados” para a ocasião. Estes incluirão Croquetes Murg Changezi, alcatra de cordeiro e ombro de cordeiro com chilli de Caxemira, sorvete de aamras e churan coberto com pó de mukhwas e muito mais. Na vila de Marylebone, o restaurante Trishna, com estrela Michelin, também tem um jantar especial disponível para os foliões de Diwali. O chef Sajeev Nair criou um banquete comemorativo de seis pratos que inclui pratos como Half Lobster Ghee Roast e Tandoori Lamb Chops, bem como pratos vegetarianos como Tikka Anardana e Jackfruit Pepper Fry. 7. Apreciar alguma arte indiana deslumbrante
Embora não seja explicitamente dedicada ao Diwali, a celebração da arte e dos artistas indianos no Barbican Centre, The Imaginary Institution of India: Art 1875-1998, é uma visita obrigatória. A exposição situa-se na intersecção da criatividade e da história e engloba obras que respondem a um período particularmente intenso da história da Índia. As peças variam entre pinturas, esculturas, fotografias e instalações multimédia.
A exposição tem normalmente bilhetes, mas estará aberta gratuitamente no fim de semana de 26 e 27 de outubro para coincidir com o Darbar Festival de música clássica indiana no Barbican Centre e para comemorar o Diwali e o Bandi Chor Divas. Outro jantar Diwali de uma noite só estará disponível no renomado Cinnamon Kitchen Battersea de Vivek Singh para Diwali, em colaboração com o semifinalista do MasterChef e chef celebridade, Nisha Parmar. Um jantar de seis pratos levará os comensais a uma viagem pelas celebrações tradicionais do Diwali através de pratos temáticos. O restaurante Bombay Bustle de Mayfair está a fazer uma parceria com a escritora e chefe de cozinha Mainukia Gowardhan para criar um Thali Diwali especial. O menu especial estará disponível de 23 de outubro a 3 de novembro, com uma mistura de pratos do livro de Maunika, Thali: A Joyful Celebration of Indian Home Cooking “, de Maunika, e pratos do Chef Executivo Surender Mohan, do Bombay Bustle. Os convidados serão recebidos com uma bebida Badam Thandai (uma bebida cremosa de açafrão e rosas) antes de saborearem pratos como Kadai Paneer, Caril de Cordeiro Malabar, Rajwadi Gobhi, entre outros.
