Can you hear the sleigh bells ringing?
Honestly, the first half of this year has gone by in an instant, and with the countless on and off lockdowns, it’s easy to lose track of time. I’m pretty sure it’s July, but in a rather bold move, Pret has just brought back its ever-so-popular Christmas sandwich. Yes, you read that right: From July 6 until the first week of August, you can get the ‘CHRIIIIIISSSTMAAAS Sandwich’ at Pret shops nationwide (and via delivery on the usual platforms). For lack of a better line: Christmas came early, guys!

The sandwich comes with slices of British turkey in a port & orange cranberry sauce, a herby pork stuffing, baby spinach leaves, free-range mayo, and crispy onions. In case you’re wondering who on earth came up with this plot twist that is a Christmas sandwich in the midst of summer, it was actually a unanimous decision by Pret fans all over the UK:
Pret heard the people, and realised many of them missed out on their favourite sarnie due to the pandemic last Christmas season (you know, the one in December). Thus they could only make it right by bringing it back, straight away. In true Christmas spirit, 50p from every sandwich sold will be donated to The Pret Foundation, which works to alleviate poverty, hunger, and homelessness.
But if you thought that was all, you clearly don’t believe in Christmas miracles. To kick off the festive season (?), Christmas legend and Slade lead singer, Noddy Holder, will be handing out 100 free Christmas sandwiches at Pret’s 182 Wardour Street store from 11am today (July 6). Better hurry up and get your hands on one—after all, you’ve been so good this year.
