Pianists from around the world are gathering in Shoreditch for a 12-hour music marathon.
From 10am–10pm on Friday March 29, which just so happens to be International Piano Day, a beautiful Steinway Concert Grand Piano will be continuously occupied by fantastic musicians. (See our full list of upcoming concerts in London.)
Taking it in turns to bash out the chords will be OKIEM, Andrew James Johnson, Gamal Khamis, and many other artists from across the globe (some of which are flying to the UK especially to play). There’ll be a good mix of contemporary, jazz and classical music, with no breaks in between.
The piano marathon will take place at the very unique loft space, Shoreditch Treehouse. It’s a wonderful spot with the perfect vibe for an intimate concert. And, of course, there’ll be drinks and snacks to keep you going, though you’re not expected to stay for the full 12 hours.
Tickets to the event are free, but organisers have suggested a minimum donation of £5, which will go towards the Help Musicians UK charity. Get your tickets here.
