Anyone who knows anything about cooking, knows you should pay close attention whenever an elder family member wants to teach you their cooking wisdom. And when it’s the Pasta Grannies themselves imparting the secrets to great Italian food? You pay extra attention. And that’s just what some lucky few will be able to do next week. On September 20, nonna Maria flies over from Italy to run a pasta-making class at (where else?) Eataly.
Cooking with Maria
Celebrating the launch of the latest book from the Pasta Grannies, Pasta Grannies: Comfort Cooking, attendees will get a properly hands-on experience. It all kicks off with a welcome drink, with a glass of prosecco at 6:45 PM before the class begins. Throughout the class participants will make two dishes from scratch, making use of one recipe from each Pasta Grannies book.
Cooking right alongside you, nonna Maria and one of Eataly’s own skilled chefs will answer any questions you have. Along the way they’ll share essential tips and tricks (some of which won’t be in the books!). And at the end, you’ll settle back in true Italian style with a glass of wine to savour the delicious food.
You’ll head home fully confident in your ability to make Tortelli dolci di castagne, a sweet baked chestnut tortelli from Romagna, and Cappelletti in brodo – Maria’s own recipe for cappelletti in meat stock. You’ll also get own copy of Pasta Grannies: Comfort Cooking, detailed recipe cards, and your very own class diploma. One class, two dishes, but a plethora of meals on the horizon for you and your family and friends.
Head to Eataly’s events page to find out how to grab tickets. Spaces are very limited for this one-time class, so act fast to secure your spot.
