This autumn, Wonderland won’t just be found in the worn pages of a treasured, spine-cracked book. Instead, you can descend down the rabbit hole and into the land of grinning cats and philosophy-pondering caterpillars by heading to Dock X in Canada Water, where, from November 13, a gateway into Lewis Carroll’s iconic novel will open. Making its world premiere in London, Alice Immersive Wonderland is a brand-new experience that will have you questioning reality with larger-than-life, dreamlike sets, mesmerising 360-degree projections and live performances bringing key moments of Alice’s surreal story to life.

What can you expect inside Alice Immersive Wonderland?
One thing is for sure, you won’t find logic inside this experience. Alice Immersive Wonderland uses everything you know and love about the 1865 novel to conjure up an interactive journey that gets curiouser and curiouser. There’s even narration from a Lewis Carroll-reminiscent voice to guide you along the way. You’ll be able to follow in Alice’s shiny Mary-Jane-style shoes as you chase the white rabbit through a labyrinthine tunnel of precariously stacked cushions, gaze up at giant mushrooms in a strange, psychedelic space and meet the marvellous embodiments of madness at a chaotic tea party.
There are 10 immersive chapters to explore. Each one takes you deeper into the Alice in Wonderland universe with a combination of creative special effects, whimsical games and engaging storytelling. When you’re not getting lost in the purple-drenched forest of the Cheshire Cat, you can try your hand at flamingolf (real flamingos not included) in the interactive ‘Queen of Hearts’ space and reflect on Alice’s adventures during a 20-minute, 360-degree video projection in the ‘Hall of Dreams’. There’s even a chance to learn more about Carroll’s life and literary legacy in a dedicated exhibition-style room.

Alice Immersive Wonderland comes from the creative minds at Cités Immersives, who have already captivated crowds across France with acclaimed experiences that take you to the age of the Vikings and bring La Fontaine’s fables to life. Now, they are taking over the 26,000-square-foot expanse of Canada Water’s Dock X warehouse and transforming it into an interactive wonderland for all ages.
This will be the world premiere of the experience, so you could be among the very first to take the trip down the rabbit hole. Just be warned, once you emerge, you might not be the same person as you were yesterday.
